Busy Day!

Wow!  What a busy day I've had.  I went to see a friends new house, went to Michael's to purchase a cupcake carrier, cleaned the house, made dinner AND dessert.  The best part is that I did it all wearing flip flops!!!

Now, I'm getting ready to head out to my Girl Scout meeting.  It's a warm, sunny day and I feel so blessed that I could phsyically get all of those tasks done today.  Not long ago, I would have had to pick one item to cross off my list and call it a day.  I am such a lucky lady!

  2. I think your story may be very similar to mine! I was diagnosed with DRD in 2000 at the age of 49. My path to daignosis was complicated by the fact that I also have Lupus. Now on Madopar three times a day (small doses of 62.5) my life is so different. A miracle as you say!! I feel truly blessed! With love...Mary

    1. Oh, Mary! This is amazing. It's so nice to know that there is someone else out there, besides my family, who really understands what I have gone through and why I am so grateful for all my daily blessings! So, you must have been 36 when you started Madopar? I was 33 when I began taking Levodpa. I would love to hear more about your story! Feel free to friend me on FB so you can message me privately. I really would love to hear about your challenges and how you feel your life has changed for the better.
Your message has made my day!!!

    2. Jean - I am with you all the way! I get it! I'm a bit older than you - 62 now - (but a young 62 :)). I was in my thirties when finally diagnosed with Spastic Paraplegia - similar to you :) I was in my forties when diagnosed with Lupus, and then not until 49 when the Spastic Paraplegia diagnosis was replaced with a DRD diagnosis.

I still have Lupus - as well as DRD - but both are under control now.
I was 49 when I took my first Madopar tablet and my life changed - within an hour of that very first tablet!!

I would love to friend you on Facebook. My name is Mary Boland. I have written a book about the journey and I encourage you to do the same.

      See you on facebook...
      Love Mary
