Getting The Hang of It

I just finished hanging a couple pictures and this excites me because I have never hung a picture before.  I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out or if the frames would fall to the floor as soon an the task was completed.  In fact, I placed bath towels on the floor in front of where I hung the photo in the bathroom in fear  it may break when it hits the floor.  It's been an hour and I haven't heard a crash, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This is one of those things that I wasn't sure if I was capable of completing on my own  I had asked Steve to hang the photos and he's been too busy with work and coaching basketball.  I can't help but pat myself on the back for taking a chance and risking failure.  Luckily, this leap of faith turned out successful and that puts a smile on my face.  Now I just have to ask myself, "What should I try tomorrow?"

  2. I like to hang pictures and have used OOK brand museum quality professional hangers which are available from Home Depot. The hole is slanted correctly and the nail is easily removed with a pair of pliers. Some of my hangers have literally been used and reused for decades.

It's nice that you took to initiative and accomplished this task! I am proud of you. :-) In fact, I almost asked you this fall if you had your own kit.

You know I am a gadget queen. My kit has a magnetic tack hammer my mother used to do upholstery, a small level with horizontal and vertical bubbles plus hole to hang the level vertically with string to get a straight line, and the art gum eraser by Sanford from Hobby Lobby to erase pencil marks. I even have a battery powered stud finder from my "single" days.

I have just purchased the 3M Brand command strips (not hooks available from same manufacturer) to mount panels for a design wall in my quilting room.

Yes, Independence is Great!!! Way to go, Jean!
